Slack

  1. Navigate to your dashboard and select the Assistant you want to integrate with Slack.

  2. In the Configure section, locate Other Channels and click the Add button on the Slack card.

  3. Slack will be added to the Configure section.

  4. Navigate to Slack API dashboard to Create an App. Click on Your Apps located at the top right corner of the page.

  5. In your Slack app settings, find the App Credentials section under Basic Information and copy the provided Signing Secret.

  6. Paste the Signing Secret into the corresponding field in the Slack Integration Details Popup on your GuideLite Assistant section.

  7. Locate the Bot Token Scope section under OAuth & Permissions in the left panel of your Slack app settings. Add chat:write and im:write to the OAuth Scope.

  8. Install the app to your workspace by clicking the Install to Workspace button.

  9. Copy the Bot User OAuth Token from your Slack app Features.

  10. Paste the token into the Bot OAuth Token field in the Slack Integration Details Popup on your GuideLite Assistant section.

  11. Once the credentials are added, click on Save to obtain the Webhook URL.

  12. Copy the Webhook URL.

  13. In the Slack API dashboard, locate the Event Subscription section.

  14. Turn on the Enable Events toggle button.

  15. In the Subscribe to bot events section, select app_mention and message.im for GuideLite interaction, and save your changes after verifying.

  16. Paste the Webhook URL into the Request URL field.

  17. Once verified in the Events Subscriptions, click on verify in the Slack Integration Details Popup to complete the verification.

  18. Locate the Show Tabs section under App Home in the left panel of your Slack app Features.

  19. Turn on the Messages Tab toggle button and click on the checkbox under Messages tab.

  20. Reinstall the application in the Slack API .

  21. Congratulations! GuideLite Assistant is now successfully integrated into your Slack environment.
